CONFERENCE

3-4 OCTOBER Latvia Puppet Theatre invites you to attend the international conference CONTEMPORARY (PUPPET) THEATRE. WHERE TO GO?

The conference will bring together internationally renowned lecturers, masters of contemporary performing arts, psychologists, philosophers, marketing experts and producers to think and talk together about the possibilities and scenarios for the development of the theatre industry today. Valuable knowledge, experiences, ideas, surprises, meetings and new friendships await you!

Today's puppet theatre traditionally appeals to children, but increasingly also to young people and adults, thanks to its special form of expression and imagery. It opens up important, socially charged themes and issues. Its potential is enormous. With the development of technology, we find it in cinema and other forms of multimedia art. It meets and even mixes with visual, movement and dramatic theatre.

The possibilities are vast and the challenges are numerous. What specific knowledge and skills do contemporary (puppet) theatre professionals need and how can they best learn them? How to reach, retain and grow with your audience? What is our position within the European and global theatre landscape? What values do we bring? What innovations and changes are we ready for?
